Arts Access Australia welcomes two new Board Members

Madeleine is a theatre-maker, former Meeting Place travel grant recipient, and the inaugural winner of the Arts Access Australia National Leadership Award. She lives in Queensland, where she works with AAA Original Member Access Arts.
Dan is a trained theatre director and disability arts advocate. He has a particular interest in support for neurodiverse artists and is proud to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community. He lives in NSW and also serves on several committees supporting Deaf and disabled artists.
“We are delighted to welcome Madeleine and Dan to the AAA Board,” AAA Chair Belinda Locke said. “We look forward to working together at this pivotal time for AAA and continuing the organisation’s legacy of disability leadership.”
Two further candidates were also elected at the AGM: Liz Martin and Martin Sawtell. Liz and Martin were elected as a Board Member representing the Original Members and a Board Member representing the Ordinary Members respectively after serving on the Board.
The AGM was held online via Zoom and in-person in Sydney on 28 May 2021.
Original Members are elected by the original State access organisations, as outlined in Arts Access Australia’s Constitution. Ordinary Board Members are elected by popular vote by Arts Access Australia’s membership, which includes individual members, organisational members other than the Original Members, and honorary life members.
