Call for nominations to the AAA Board
The Annual General Meeting of Arts Access Australia (A.B.N. 20 084 007 321) will be held online, via the Zoom communications platform, on Friday 26 May 2023.
The AGM will include the announcement of the outcome of an online ballot for the election of two directors to join the Board to be voted by the Ordinary Members of AAA. Any Ordinary member of AAA, who is a paid-up financial member on the date of nomination (and who remains a paid-up financial member on the date of election), may nominate to stand as a candidate for election (Candidate).
TO BE ELIGIBLE
To be eligible to join AAA’s Board, candidates must be an Individual Member or working for an organisation that is a Member of AAA, excepting the State access organisations listed here.
A Candidate must:
- Not be a person who is ineligible to be a director of, or disqualified from managing, a company under the Corporations Act 2001 or disqualified from being a Responsible Person under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012 within the previous 12 months.
- Have a Director ID issued by Australian Business Registry Services. Information about the Directors ID and how to apply, is available at https://www.abrs.gov.au/director-identification-number.
TERM OF SERVICE AND MEETINGS
Elected candidates will serve as a director on the Board for two years, with the option to stand for re-election at the end of the term. The successful candidates will need to be available for monthly Board meetings. On occasion, they may be required to attend additional Board meetings, serve on additional committees of the Board, or attend AAA and industry events.
All director roles on the AAA Board are voluntary.
NOMINATING
Candidates can self-nominate. Candidates who work for a member will need their employer to nominate them. A nomination must be in writing and signed by the Candidate. Candidates may also submit a supporting statement (maximum of 150 words) and a photograph.
Nominations and supporting material must be submitted by email to info@artsaccessaustralia.org by 5pm AEST, 9 May 2023.
