Chelle Destefano's artworks have been described as ‘poetic masterpieces’ that ‘give life to a wonderful orchestra of shades, sounds and remote flavours that stimulate and unleash the … imagination imprisoned in our souls.’ (Timothy Warrington).
Chelle's paintings can be found in public and private collections, she has exhibited at the Melbourne Art Gallery, and had solo exhibitions in London and Paris. Her work was twice selected for Venice Biennale in 2015 and 2016, as well as the London Biennale 2017.
Chelle works with watercolour, ink, acrylic, gouache and mixed media to communicate her stories, transcribing her perceptions of the world today and way back many thousands of years ago. She is beginning to work in other artforms that include art installations and performance art to compliment her visual art works.
