Blown away by The Nature of Why, which premiered at Perth Festival last night 😍 Not only was it an incredible immersive experience, but it was fully accessible, with audio description, tactile tours, assistive listening and Auslan interpretation for all performances.
Given life by commissioner by Unlimited, with funding from Arts Council England, Stavros Niarchos Foundation and we the curious, this show proves what is possible with ongoing and large-scale investment in the arts and disability sector. It's this type of investment that is what we mean when we talk about REAL MONEY to support artists with disability in Australia.
See it tonight and tomorrow night in Perth: bit.ly/2SzRn3l

The stage becomes a site of discovery as four dancers move to the music with choreography by Australian artist and disability advocate Caroline Bowditch and Company. ... See MoreSee Less

Will the campaign expand to include non-Govermental organisations? Migrant artists (esp those with disabilities) can't access government jobs or funding if they're not already a PR or citizen. I was on a bridging visa for 5 years and it was hell to get much going in my artistic career because of this.
