Arts Access Australia appoints new CEO
Hall has a long history of engagement with the Australian arts sector. He has been Chair of the Brisbane Writer’s Festival and the Queensland Conservatorium within Griffith University, and a Board member of Queerscreen. He also played a key role in setting up the Namatjira Legacy Trust, working with family and community in Alice Springs.
A lawyer by trade, Hall brings to AAA 20 years of management experience across both commercial and non-profit organisations. He also has personal experience of living with disability, ensuring AAA’s continued commitment to disability leadership.
AAA Chair Belinda Locke said she is looking forward to a transformative era for AAA under Hall’s guidance.
“Matthew comes to AAA at a pivotal point in time for the organisation, and for the arts sector as a whole,” Locke said. “While there are indeed challenges ahead, I am excited by the opportunity presented by Matthew’s appointment. The Board and I look forward to working with Matthew as he leads the transformation of the organisation into a new era of delivering equal opportunity for cultural and creative participation and contribution for all Deaf and disabled Australians.”
“I would also like to acknowledge the contribution of Interim CEO Bev East, who has provided instrumental support to the organisation over the past four months,” Locke said. “The AAA Board and staff wish you the very best for the future.”
Hall holds Bachelors of Arts and Laws and a Master of Law, and has completed post-graduate studies at Harvard Business School. He now lives in rural NSW in the historic village of Burrawang, where he pursues his passion for landscape photography.
