Artists with disability earn 42% less than artists without disability. They are less likely to be employed, thanks to ongoing and systemic discrimination and a lack of accessible work environments. As a result, they are far less likely to be in leadership positions – the positions we need people with disability to be in to create change in the arts sector.
So, it is up to us to create this change.
When you donate to Arts Access Australia, you can help fund important advocacy and change programs such as the Real Money, Real Jobs campaign and the NDIS Working Group. You can also choose to support artists with disability through our Meeting Place Travel Grants or our National Leadership Award.
